Hayward SPX1600PN Hand Knob & Swivel Nut Kit
Part Number: SPX1600PN
Description
A genuine replacement hand knob and swivel nut kit designed for select Hayward pump strainer lids. This kit restores the ability to easily secure and remove the lid without tools, while maintaining the proper seal for efficient pool pump operation.
Compatibility & Fitment
- Fits Hayward Super Pump®, Super Pump® VS, MaxFlo® and compatible strainers that use the hand knob and swivel nut assembly.
- Use when the original knob is broken, stripped, missing or the nut is no longer securing the lid tightly.
- Direct replacement kit for systems specifying part number SPX1600PN.
Features & Specifications
- Includes one hand knob and matching swivel nut.
- Tool-free hand-tight design for quick lid access.
- Made of pool-rated materials to resist corrosion and wear in a pool environment.
- Restores proper lid compression and seal integrity to prevent air entry or lid lift-off.
Installation Notes
Shut off pump power and relieve pressure. Remove the strainer lid. Extract the old knob and nut assembly. Insert the new swivel nut into the lid housing, thread the new hand knob onto the nut and tighten by hand until the lid seats firmly. Re-prime and run the pump, verifying no air bubbles or lid movement.
Maintenance Tip
Inspect the knob and nut each season: replace the kit if the knob cracks, the nut spins freely, or air enters the pump. Ensuring a secure lid helps maintain pump performance and system longevity.
